A BRADFORD man has been fined after he was caught dodging rail fare on a journey to Leeds,
Huma Saleem, 22 of Belle Vue, Manningham, was travelling between Bradford Interchange and Leeds on March 3 when he was asked to produce a ticket.
He was unable to do so and had boarded at a station where there were fully functioning facilities available.
Saleem was issued with a Penalty Fare Notice for £100 - plus the single fare - reduced to £50.00 plus the single fare if paid within 21 days.
Payment or an appeal must be made within 21 days and full instructions of where to send payment or appeal are clearly printed on the notice, the court documents state.
As no payment or appeal was received a reminder letter was sent. As no payment was received, a further reminder letter was sent.
At Doncaster Justice Centre North, a collection order was made and he was fined £220, ordered to pay compensation of £4.90, as well as a surcharge to fund victim services of £88, and costs of £150.
In total he must pay £462.90, before January 5, 2024.
