A WOMAN has been fined after she was caught dodging a rail fare on her journey to Leeds.
Ashiana Msvcc, 29, of Bradford Road, Shipley, was travelling between Shipley and Leeds on March 8 2023, and failed to produce a valid ticket.
The court record states that Msvcc boarded from Shipley, where there were fully functioning ticket-purchasing facilities, but she didn’t buy one or obtain a promise to pay notice.
The defendant was issued with a Penalty Fare Notice for £100.00 plus the single fare, reduced to £50.00 plus the single fare if paid within 21 days.
Payment or an appeal must be made within 21 days and full instructions of where to send payment or appeal are clearly printed on the notice.
As no payment was received a further reminder letter was sent. Msvcc has failed to communicate, or make payment, and the fare remains unpaid.
At Doncaster Justice Centre North, Msvcc was ordered to pay a fine of £220, compensation of £5.10, a surcharge to fund victim services of £88, and costs of £150.
In total, she must pay, £463.10 before January 5.
