POLICE officers and staff from West Yorkshire Police’s Operational Support based at Dudley Hill, Bradford, have kicked off preparations for the festive season with a Christmas toy collection in support of the Bradford Cinderella Club Toy Appeal.
Staff from the Prosecutions and Casualty Prevention Unit, supported by Roads Policing Unit officers have been collecting toys for the charity which helps make Christmas special for youngsters who might otherwise not enjoy treats that others take for granted.
Jess Bland who co-ordinated the appeal said: “I am overwhelmed with how generous friends and colleagues in the unit have been and we all hope that this gesture from the team brightens what should be a happy time for all children.
“Unfortunately, not every child has the same opportunity, and we are only too pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile appeal.”
Rachel Thompson, of Bradford Cinderella Club, said: “Immense thanks for the very kind donations of toys donated by the team at West Yorkshire Police.
“The toys will be distributed though our contacts where we know they will reach the most underprivileged kids in our city, ensuring lots of smiles on lots of faces of the children receiving the kind donation you have provided.”
