INTERNATIONAL maestro organist Michael Wooldridge will play the Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ in a concert of light and popular seasonal music in Saltaire tomorrow (Sunday).
The Cinema Organ Society, in its 70th year, will present the concert which will take place in the Victoria Hall, Saltaire, at 2.30pm tomorrow. Doors open at 2pm.
The organ, built by Wurlitzer in 1937, was shipped across to the UK and installed in the Gaumont cinema Oldham.
It was purchased by the COS 1961 and after a variety of home was re-installed and opened in the Victoria Hall, Saltaire, just over 10 years ago.
Refreshments can be ordered to be served prior to the show or during the interval when visits to the organ's chambers below stage can be arranged to view nearly 1,000 pipes and percussions etc.
Normal admission at the door is £12 and young people are welcome. Under 18s are free of charge and under 25s cost £5.
