A BAR owner has thanked others in the same Bradford complex for saving her Christmas spirit after a yob wrecked her decorations.

Lina's Coffee Booth & Bar in the city centre's Sunbridgewells tunnels was targeted earlier this month.

CCTV footage shows a man pointlessly pulling down the business' Christmas lights.

Understandably the act caused owner Lina Lukosiute-Easter to feel upset when she noticed what had happened the following day.

Speaking to the Telegraph & Argus, she said: "I got emotional because it is my baby.

"When you walk in you can't really notice my small booth, so you do your best to decorate it.

"That night (December 1), somebody had too much to drink in a different pub and he came into the tunnels.

"He had been asked to leave and got angry so he pulled down my lights and decorations.

"I don’t even know how to explain its behaviour. It was upsetting."

Sunbridgewells is an underground tunnel complex in the heart of Bradford, which includes restaurants, cafes and shops in a setting that is in line with the city's history and culture.

After informing the other businesses in the complex what had happened via a WhatsApp group, Lina was really surprised by their response.

"Everyone came together to support me," she added.

"They gave me new lights, decorations and a homemade wreath.

"Two hours later, they surprised me by putting them up. I got emotional again.

"They said you worked so hard to make it look nice.

"I am such a Christmas person, I love the season. If it wasn’t for the team at Sunbridgewells, I would have lost my Christmas spirit."

Lina, who is originally from Lithuania, opened the business around two years ago as the Coffee Booth Yorkshire.

A slight change of direction had to be made a short time later though.

Lina said: "I have always loved coffee and different types from around the world. We didn’t have anything like this in Bradford.

"It is a standing bar where you come in and choose which beans out of seven different ones you like and I make it.

"Eight months later, I realised my coffee business may have to become just a hobby. Then I had the plan to add a bar. Now I am selling alcohol, as well.

"Business has massively improved since that. A big thank you must go to my regulars."
