A TOWN centre banking hall has been sold at auction for £30,000 above its guide price.
The former Barclays bank building, on the corner of Otley Road and Kirkgate in Shipley, shut in 2021 and has remained empty ever since.
Earlier this week the building went under the hammer in an online auction with a guide price of £250,000.
The listing, by Pugh Auctions, describes the former bank as a "prominent and imposing former bank premises, situated attractively on a corner position and believed to hold redevelopment potential.
“The property would suit a variety of uses and may be suitable for redevelopment, subject to the necessary consents.”
The property sold for £280,000 at Wednesday’s auction, although the buyer has not yet been disclosed.
