MORE than a dozen tickets were issued as part of a police operation aimed at tackling anti-social driving.
A spokesperson for the Leeds North West Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said: "Over the weekend, roads policing officers were patrolling the Yeadon, Guiseley, Otley and Horsforth areas as part of Operation SPARC."
Results included:
* One ticket for driving without due care and attention.
* Two tickets for using a handheld device while driving.
* One vehicle was seized for driving without insurance.
* Seven tickets were issued for window tints not allowing enough light in.
* Three tickets for registration plate not conforming to regulations.
* One ticket for driving without wearing a seatbelt.
* One ticket for having a tyre without the legal minimum of tread.
The spokesperson for the NPT added: "Every single one of the above offences could have been prevented very easily.
"Offences such as driving without a seatbelt, using a handheld device whilst driving and driving with unsuitable tyres only increase the level of risk when driving in the cold weather we're currently experiencing.
"Please take ten minutes out of your day, today, to give your vehicle a quick check-over."
