A NEW jewellery store has officially opened in The Broadway shopping centre and the Telegraph & Argus can now give you a peek inside.
Goldsmiths opened its doors to the public for the first time yesterday, having taken over the unit where Ernest Jones was operating until recently.
The shop features a central unit with cabinets containing a variety of items of jewellery, as well as further display cases around the edge of the store.
There are several tables with chairs, for customers to use, as well as a corner dedicated to TAG Heuer watches.
The store will sell Goldsmith's "finest selection of diamond jewellery, jewellery brands and a range of fashion and prestige watches", including brands such as Rolex and Omega.
Ian Ward, general manager at The Broadway said: “This opening is big news for the centre and for Bradford shoppers.
"Goldsmiths is one of the leading quality jewellers in the UK with showrooms in every major town and city, selling brands such as Rolex, Omega, TAG Heuer.
“Once again, welcoming this brand to the centre reinforces our position as the city’s premier shopping, dining and leisure destination and adds to our list of luxury retailers.
"It’s also opened at the perfect time – just in time for Christmas – so shoppers can purchase gifts for their loved ones.”
The news first emerged about Ernest Jones leaving The Broadway when a sign appeared on the window of the store in mid-November.
It said: "This store has now closed.
"In the meantime, we'd be delighted to help celebrate your story at your nearest store (Commercial Street, Leeds) or at www.ernestjones.co.uk
"If you have an order, repair or deposit with us we'll be in touch."
A spokesperson for The Broadway then told the Telegraph & Argus that the unit would be re-opening at the end of November and "changes are going on behind the scenes".
It emerged afterwards that Watches of Switzerland, the company behind Goldsmiths, has acquired a number of Ernest Jones stores and would reopen The Broadway store as Goldsmiths.
'Boutique Goldsmiths' was in The Broadway until it closed its doors in February 2018.
The official opening comes after Flannels was welcomed in the former Tessuti store as part of a rebrand, at the end of October.
The store stocks brands including Prada, the North Face and Vivienne Westwood.
Flip Out adventure park has also recently opened its doors, featuring inflatables, soft play, bumper cars, interactive gaming zones, laser quest, as well as dining and event spaces.
