A NEW cake shop in Bradford has been awarded a five-star hygiene rating.
Beth’s Bakes on Wibsey Bank opened last month and has received an immense amount of positive feedback.
The shop has seen hundreds of customers come through its doors since it opened and owner Beth Mallinson is ‘thrilled’ with the response.
She said: “I’m so thrilled and glad that it went well.
“I was really nervous about it but when they came and started asking me questions and told me I’d got five stars I was really happy.
“A lot of work went into getting this place the way it is so I’m glad it went well.”
Beth had a feeling the inspection would take place in the coming days as a few other businesses in the area had received their hygiene inspections.
“It’s always in the back of your mind when are they going to come, and I had a feeling.
“I’ve put the sign on the door and I think it makes people trust you more and buy form your shop.
“Getting the five shows you meet the high standards which brings more people in.”
Beth has had a busy start with people from across West Yorkshire coming to Wisbey to try her delicious bakes.
“People who follow me on social media have come to my shop and I’ve got loads of new customers.
“We've had people from Huddersfield come to Bradford just to get some bakes.
“It’s been the best start.”
Her most popular bakes are Mars Brownies, Mint Aero brownies and her cookies.
