PEOPLE across Bradford and the district will be waking up to icy temperatures and even icier roads. 

The Met office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across Yorkshire and the Humber. 

The weather warning came into place yesterday at 5pm and remains until 11am today. 

Showers of snow are to be expected and icy patches could cause hazardous conditions.

It comes as two schools in Bradford have been forced to close today due to faults with the boiler, with one unable to heat the setting up to the recommended standard.

Temperatures are set to fall throughout the day with zero degrees to be expected by 8pm, tonight.

The Met Office has said travel delays are to be expected with some roads and railways likely to be affected.

A spokesperson for the UK's national weather service said: "Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

"Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces."
