PEOPLE are being warned that a business will be testing its off-site emergency siren.
Solenis in Low Moor will test the alarm on Thursday, December 7 at 10am and 8pm.
A spokesperson for the chemical firm said: "The siren, which produces a sound of increasing and decreasing pitch, will operate for one minute on each occasion.
"There is no need for members of the public, who hear the siren, to take any action.
"The emergency services have been informed of the test sounding of the siren.
"Residents living within the Public Information Zone around the Solenis site at Low Moor will have recently received a leaflet giving details of this test.
"However, if neighbours are new to the area or have lost the leaflet and would like a copy please contact Solenis."
The test sounding is being carried out as part of the company’s obligations under the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015 (COMAH Regulations).
