A street in Ilkley has been named among Britain’s 50 best places to live.
The Telegraph has compiled a list of the best streets to live by region.
It was based on crime levels, employment opportunities, quality of the public realm and proximity to schools and transport) before honing in on the highest value LSOAs (lower layer super output areas).
Interviews with leading estate agents also revealed the most in-demand locations for family-friendly properties in suburbs and towns.
Many addresses on the list offer period housing, a good location for schools and nearby green or blue space.
Heading north out of Ilkley into the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is Langbar Road.
It was the only location in West Yorkshire to meet the Telegraph’s criteria.
Properties in this neighbourhood sell for an average £845,107, the newspaper said.
In the wider local authority, the average house price is £166,789.
The street is a stone’s throw from Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club, the golf course and the lido.
“It feels like a private road,” said Ed Stoyle of Savills.
“Families are drawn to its large detached houses and generous plots, greenery and space.”
