ONE of Bradford’s most well-established businesses has raised more than £100,000 towards aid for Palestine.

All profits from the limited munch box from Mother Hubbard's were set aside for the cause. 

Hassan Sheikh, national manager at Mother Hubbard's, then decided to cast the net further and sell the charity box in every store for one day only.

It caught the attention of TikTokers like MrMunchbox, Foodie Anz, and Halal Munchies Reviews.

Efforts are now underway to find charities that can act with urgency to supply medical supplies, fresh water, food, and clothing to Palestinians.

Mother Hubbard's was overwhelmed by the support shown by customers. 

“Friday was one of the main days, it started causing a lot of noise," he said. 

“We started it Monday, Tuesday, that week and as the hype started building we had quite a few TikTokers come on their own accord. We just went viral.

“What we’re looking to do is, because a lot of money has been generated, we know it can go to quite a lot of things. We know that pot of money is there.

“We’re still speaking to the larger charities. We just want to make sure we’re confident.

“It’s not just our money, it’s the customers’ money.”

Hassan shared his thanks to customers, staff, and suppliers involved in the mass charity donation.

“Thanks to anyone who made it possible,” he said.

In the face of the Israel-Palestine conflict, the act of prayer is pulling people of different faiths and backgrounds together in Bradford. 

Just this weekend, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community organised a united prayer for lasting peace in Palestine and Israel.

Representatives from Bradford’s Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Hindu, and Christian communities stood together.

“We’ve just got to keep on praying,” said Hassan.

“Praying is the type of thing, you can pray for someone no matter the situation.”
