A HAIR salon owner has spoken of frustration after his business was targeted once again in a burglary.

Jonathan Ward has owned The Yorkshire Chair for years - relocating from Wyke to Bradford Road, Northowram in September.

Despite the move, another burglary occurred at the business over the weekend.

West Yorkshire Police are investigating the incident - which occurred in the early hours of Sunday - and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

"This is not the first time it has happened. It is frustrating," Mr Ward said.

"This is the third time I've been burgled.

"We only opened on September 2. I thought I would be safe there being next to a supermarket with all the cameras."

CCTV footage shows a man entering the shop, holding a bag, and searching for items with a phone's torchlight.

He then loads the bag with electrical items and other products before leaving through the window he smashed to gain entry.

Mr Ward says an Apple MacBook, a Canon camera, a tip jar, and Yorkshire Chair merchandise were stolen.

It is understood The Yorkshire Chair is not the only shop in the Shelf/Northowram which has been targeted in recent weeks.

"I spent £50,000 on the renovation of the shop. Now, is the busiest time of the year and I have got a window boarded up," he added.

"It is a big arch window, so it is not as straightforward glass. It is not just the damage either, it is the shop's aesthetics.

"I am in a brand new area and I'm hoping to get a few new clients through the door in December. It is just the knock-on effect that it has on my business."

Back in 2022, the Telegraph & Argus reported on a burglar who had ransacked The Yorkshire Chair when it was based in Wyke, making off with property worth £4,500.

A spokesperson from West Yorkshire Police said: "We are investigating a burglary at a business on Bradford Road, Northowram in the early hours of November 26.

"Enquiries are ongoing.
