THE Army's bomb squad has been called to a house in the Bradford area amid a police investigation.
Officers have this week been searching a property on Brackendale Grove, Thackley.
West Yorkshire Police has confirmed the Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the house just after 6pm yesterday after items were found by officers.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson told the Telegraph & Argus this morning: "Officers searching a property on Brackendale Grove found what appeared to be a couple of artillery shells and contacted the Army's EOD.
"The EOD attended the property and assessed the items and took them away to be disposed of safely.
The force's spokesperson confirmed the EOD was called to the same house where there has been a significant police presence this week.
As reported by the T&A on Thursday, several police vehicles - including cars and crime scene investigation vans - were outside the property that day, and a cordon was also put in place around the house in the afternoon.
It is understood officers had been at the property for much of the day.
On Thursday, enquiries by the T&A to West Yorkshire Police were referred to Police Scotland - which confirmed a 24-year-old man had been arrested.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 24-year-old man was arrested in Bradford on Thursday, November 23, 2023, in connection with malicious communications posted online.
"He was released pending further enquiry."
