Three eateries in West Yorkshire have been named in the ‘Top 100 restaurants in the UK for 2023’ by OpenTable.
Restaurants in Ilkley, Haworth and Halifax made the highly acclaimed list after 1.2 million diner reviews.
Experts at the popular online restaurant-reservation service said: “Introducing the OpenTable Top 100 restaurants in the UK for 2023.
“Compiled from over 1.2 million OpenTable diner reviews and using dining metrics including diner ratings, percentage of reservations made in advance, and five-star reviews, the list highlights some of the top spots favoured by diners this year.”

Box Tree Restaurant
Location: 35-37 Church St, Ilkley LS29 9DR.
The Box Tree has two Michelin stars and on the OpenTable website, it says: “The modern British menu and extensive wine cellar offer food lovers an unforgettable experience.
“The kitchens commitment to the best, freshest ingredients, with an emphasis on locally sourced, fresh ingredients from farmers and local suppliers.”
On Tripadvisor, it has an impressive rating of 4.5/5 out of 1,038 reviews.
A recent visitor commented: “If you get the chance it’s a must to visit the box tree for Sunday lunch.
“Perfect perfect perfect.
“Tremendous value for money for the grade of food/wine/service received.
“We rarely write reviews as feel they are solely for the “keyboard warriors “ but felt compelled after todays lunch that we must write a review.
“Well done Chris and the team. First class.”
The Hawthorn
Location: 103-109 Main Street, Haworth, Keighley, BD22 8DP
The OpenTable website says: “We serve only food made using the freshest seasonal British produce and our menu changes through the weeks to reflect this.
“We have a custom-made Josper charcoal grill which is the hottest indoor grill available and used by the best restaurants in the country.
“Cooking on the Josper ensures none of the natural moisture or flavour escapes from the food, whilst at the same time adding the distinct chargrilled taste.”
Similar to The Box Tree, this gastropub also has a rating of 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor out of 546 reviews.
This person wrote: “Our first visit and we will definitely come again. Love how you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in.
“The seating is very nicely spaced and the decorations just add to the charm of the place.
“The food was amazing! The peppercorn sauce the best we have ever tasted. All three courses were wonderful and thank you for the gluten free options available. Team Hawthorne you are doing a fabulous job.”
Pride & Provenance
Location: Piece Mill, 25-27 Horton Street, Halifax, HX1 1QE

With a rating of 5/5 out of 428 comments on Tripadvisor, an account left this review: “What a gem of a place!
“Staff are so friendly and welcoming, the quality of the food and drinks is just outstanding!
“We went for lunch, had a mooch around the Christmas market then went back to the bar downstairs.
“We were so well looked after and enjoyed our time here so much! If you love cheese, olives, charcuterie, excellent wine and cocktails, then look no further! Thank you P&P! What a fabulous time we had!”
