A MAJOR route was partially blocked and there was heavy traffic due a police incident this afternoon.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Shortly before 5pm, police were called to a report of a concern for safety of a man on Canal Road, Armley.
"Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place."
Police officers resolved the incident and the man was taken to hospital.
Traffic alerts showed the A65 at Kirkstall Road Armley, Leeds was partially blocked both ways and there was heavy traffic in the area, near the Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley and the Shell Petrol Station at Kirkstall.
A bus service which serves the area was also being diverted.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, First West Yorkshire said: "Due to a police Incident on Viaduct Road, Armley, 14 service towards Pudsey is currently diverting via Wellington Road, Canal Street and Armley Road.
"Services towards Leeds are operating the inverse of this."
