A BRIT award-winning artist will feature at a huge summer-long event at an iconic venue next year.
Live at The Piece Hall 2024 will take place at the historic and unique Grade I listed building and courtyard, in Halifax across the summer next year and a host of big names have already been announced.
Organisers have now revealed singer-songwriter Tom Odell will also be on the list, which already includes McFly, Status Quo, Fatboy Slim, Jess Glynne, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Pixies and Richard Ashcroft.
Odell is set to take to the stage on June 30 and tickets go on sale for his appearance this Friday (November 24), via Ticketmaster.
The 32-year-old is another well-known name, with five Top 10 albums to date, including chart-topping debut “Long Way Down”.
That featured songs such as “Another Love”, “Can’t Preened”, “Hold Me”, “Grow Old With Me”, and “I Know”.
He recently announced details of his biggest-ever UK and European Tour ahead of his highly anticipated new album, “Black Friday”, which is set for release on January 26 via UROK.
The Halifax show is co-promoted by The Piece Hall Trust and Cuffe and Taylor.
Nicky Chance-Thompson MBE DL, CEO of The Piece Hall Trust, said: “I’m so pleased we’re able to bring a multi-award- winning singer song writer of Tom’s calibre to The Piece Hall.
“We really are the perfect venue for this kind of sound.
“Just imagining the combination of his rich voice and brilliant musicianship I know there will be some truly beautiful moments in our stunning courtyard at this gig.”
Odell has also won an Ivor Novello award during a career that has spanned a decade so far.
The 32-year-old’s music has 28 million monthly listeners on Spotify, four billion career streams, and a social reach of eight million across multiple platforms.
His new album sees Odell entering a new musical chapter in his notable journey as a singer, songwriter, musician and producer, and will be a welcome return for long-standing devotees, who will have waited more than a year for a fresh album.
Armed with a new-found sense of freedom and creative control, “Black Friday” is a hypnotic kaleidoscope of organically constructed songs, recorded simply with Tom in his studio, guitar in lap, singing and producing songs in the same manner they were written, with pure authenticity.
Odell has shared two snippets of the new record so far, with “Somebody Else” that came alongside the album announcement, and his latest single, the title track “Black Friday” which propelled Odell into the top 100 most streamed artists in the world, with two million streams in its first day alone.
