LATEST NEWS: One man killed and two pedestrians injured after vehicle smashes into bus stop
A ROAD is closed and traffic is being diverted away from a crash where two people suffered serious injuries this afternoon.
Police are currently in attendance at a serious road traffic collision involving one vehicle on Stanningley Road, near the junction with Armley Ridge Road, in Armley, Leeds.
This is a main route connecting Armley, Leeds and Bradford
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Two people suffered life-threatening injuries.
"The road is currently closed and we would ask people to avoid the area.
"The driver of the vehicle has been arrested and remains in police custody at this time."
Traffic alerts are reporting that the westbound lane of the A647 Stanningley Road is closed and there is queueing traffic due to the crash near the KFC.
The following bus services have been diverted: X6, X11, 72 and 86.
