A WOMAN was injured in an altercation in Bradford city centre on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident broke out at The Broadway just before 3.30pm.
West Yorkshire Police said a woman who intervened was injured.
She was initially arrested, but was then de-arrested.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 3.27pm yesterday officers were called by CCTV operators to reports of an ongoing altercation between two people at The Broadway.
"Two members of the public tried to intervene prior to police arrival.
"A woman was initially arrested by police but then as it became clear she was not involved and was trying to help she was de-arrested.
"The woman suffered an injury to her nose in the altercation. A crime of assault has been recorded."
