A MAJOR road which closed yesterday due to a collapsed wall following high winds from Storm Debi is expected to remain closed until later today.
Baildon Road, Baildon, was first closed both ways from the A6038 Otley Road to Albert Street at around 5am on Tuesday.
A traffic update from INRIX sent just before 6am yesterday said: “Poor weather has resulted in a wall collapsing and blocking the road.”
Pictures from the scene show how the wall tumbled down during the stormy weather.
An orange barrier is separating the pile of bricks from the main road, while cones have been put in place where the road meets Otley Road.
Bradford Council has now issued a statement saying it is likely the road will remain closed until later today.
A spokesperson from Bradford Council said: "Due to a wall collapse - the B6151 Baildon Road, near to the junction with Otley Road the A6038, is closed and diversions are in place.
"The road closure is likely to be in place until later today (November 15)."
