A CONFERENCE will be held in Bradford to raise awareness about the issue of child poverty.
The event is being organised by Yorkshire law firm Makin Dixon Solicitors Ltd.
A spokesperson from the company said: "Bradford has one of the highest rates of child poverty in the UK.
"Poverty restricts opportunities and options to children and limits their access to things that most people take for granted in society.
"Poverty at any stage of life can lead to negative consequences - more particularly in early years development, which is a crucial stage of any person's life."
A number of experts will speak at the conference, including Nazir Afzal, a former Chief Crown Prosecution for North West England.
The conference is free to attend and will take place on Thursday.
Delegates are asked to attend for registration at the Bradford Central Foodbank, Jubilee Centre, Jermyn Street, at 9am.
Places are limited so booking is essential by emailing conference@makindixon.co.uk or calling 01535 605040.
