RELIGIOUS  leaders from different faiths are set to pray for lasting peace in Palestine and Israel.

The united prayer has been organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community - whose motto is love for all and hatred for none.

There will be representatives from Bradford’s Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Hindu, and Christian communities.

In a statement shared ahead of the event, a spokesperson for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community said: “The world is witnessing a deeply distressing conflict in Israel and Palestine. The scale of the conflict is gravely concerning as is the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe.

“His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, has unequivocally condemned Hamas for the killing of innocent civilians and said they were completely against the teachings and principles of Islam. He also condemned the subsequent killing of innocent civilians by Israel, noting that its actions had exceeded all limits.

“His Holiness underlined the need to end hostilities on all sides with an immediate ceasefire, the need to allow humanitarian aid to reach all in need, and for lasting peace to be secured based on absolute justice."

The invite-only event will take place at Ahmadiyya Muslim Association on Leeds Road from 5.30pm on Sunday, November 27.
