A BRADFORD man has been fined after he was caught dodging a rail fare on a journey to Keighley.
Adam Ali, 20, of Abingdon Street, in the Manningham area, was travelling between Bingley and Keighley on May 17, 2023.
He was asked to produce a train ticket, but he was unable to do so.
The court record states that Ali said he was waiting for college to provide him with a pass.
Following the incident, a letter was sent to the defendant requesting the fare only.
As there was no response a Fixed Penalty Notice was then sent, but this remains unpaid.
At Kirklees Magistrates' Court, a collection order was issued and he was ordered to pay a fine of £440, compensation of £3.40, a surcharge to fund victim services of £176, as well as costs of £150.
In total, he must pay £769.40 before November 27 this year.
