A BIKE rider died following a crash over the weekend.
The collision, involving a bike and a car, happened at the junction of Fortis Way and New Hey Road, Huddersfield, on Saturday, November 11.
The incident took place at about 6.48pm after a silver Nissan Qashqai turned right onto Fortis Way and was in collision with a yellow Yamaha R6.
The Qashqai had been travelling towards Huddersfield on New Hey Road with the R6 travelling on the same road in the opposite direction, just prior to the collision.
The 36-year-old male bike rider suffered fatal injuries while another male, who was a pillion passenger on the R6, suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the car, which remained at the scene, was not injured and has been interviewed by officers.
DS Paul Lightowler of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, said: “A number of enquiries remain ongoing into this collision which sadly resulted in a man losing his life.
“We are supporting the victim’s family and would like to speak to anyone who has information or footage of what occurred.
"We would also like to hear from any witnesses who saw either vehicle in the moments leading up to the crash.
“Anyone who can assist our enquiries is asked to contact MCET on 101 referencing police log 1380 of November 11."
