THE most senior doctor at a Bradford hospice is asking people to Take a Chance on Me and give Money, Money, Money when she embarks on a Tri-Abba-thon to raise money for the charity.
Super Trouper Dr Sarah Holmes, the end of life charity’s chief medical officer, is based at Marie Curie Hospice Bradford.
She will do a non-stop ‘triathlon’ in the hospice gym this Sunday (November 12), alternating between the treadmill, stepper machine and exercise bike for 24 hours, in an Abba costume and listening to the ‘70s Swedish band's most loved tunes.
Dr Holmes, 49, will complete this as part of her 50 before 50 challenge, where she aims to complete 50 fundraising challenges before her 50th birthday on May 29, 2024.
She said: “I’m a huge Abba fan – I think you’d need to be - and it seemed like a good idea at the time but I’m a bit worried about how hard the physical side is going to be.”
Dr Holmes has already abseiled down a building, ran the Leeds Marathon and the Yorkshire Three Peaks, and is currently making her way through creating and tasting 50 different cocktails (not all at once) as part of her 50 for 50.
