POLICE have been carrying speed checks in Heckmondwike to tackle anti-social behaviour on roads in the area.
Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team officers have been conducted regular speed checks after concerns were raised regarding speeding cars on Dale Lane.
Officers have been in the area at various times of the day and night conducting checks to identify locations and also times when issues are at a peak.
On November 8, officers attended along with Safer Kirklees officers to conduct checks and also speak with residents to gain a full understanding of issues, and then review plans for future days of action.
PCSO Dyson said: “Scoping out the best location and times of incidents allows ourselves to target an area at the most suitable time.
“Today's event also gave us the opportunity to discuss the issues and gain a resident’s perspective of the issues.
“We will now be planning further events to deal with the anti-social use of our roads.”
Anyone with any information regarding anti-social behaviour whether it be road-related or anything else should contact West Yorkshire Police via 101 or Online 101.
Motorists are also encouraged to submit any dashcam footage of dangerous driving and this will be followed up where suitable. Send the footage to westyorkshire.police.uk/SaferRoadsSubmissions
