THREE women arrested after a man was seriously injured from a BB gunshot remain in police custody today.
West Yorkshire Police was called by the ambulance service to reports a man had suffered injuries to his neck on Heap Lane, off Barkerend Road, at 11am yesterday.
A 42-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Officers arrested three women, aged 18, 33, and 42, on suspicion of assault.
A spokesperson for the force said: "It’s believed that a BB gun was being fired from a nearby building onto the street and has hit a male in the neck."
This morning, police have told the T&A that the women remain in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
A large cordon was put in place on Barkerend Road and Heap Lane on Tuesday.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it sent an emergency helicopter (air ambulance) to the scene.
West Yorkshire Police has launched an appeal for witnesses in relation to the incident.
