A BRADFORD mum has spoken of the distressing moment she saw flames bursting through her children's bedroom window.

There was a large emergency services response to a fire at Lauren Bailey's house on Coleshill Way in Bierley on Sunday night.

She was at home with her partner and two children, aged six and 11, when smoke alarms alerted her to the fire.

"I ran straight into their bedroom, opened the curtains, and saw gushes of flames at the window," Lauren said.

The mother-of-two acted quickly by evacuating the property and ringing the fire brigade.

She added: "I screamed and got my children out of the property.

"As we got downstairs, all of the windows just blew.

"I was just in shock, is this actually happening?"

When asked what she thought caused the fire, Lauren said: "Our back garden has decking with a plastic-sheltered area, so maybe a firework has hit that."

Crews from Odsal, Bradford, and Cleckheaton attended the scene just before midnight.

They used six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, and a positive pressure ventilation fan at the scene.

Police remained at the scene of the fire on Monday morning.

The fire has left the Baileys in a devastating situation as they await the authorities to conduct their investigation.

They are staying at Lauren's mother's house, but in the face of their ordeal, kind-hearted well-wishers have banded together to raise more than £1,000.

A GoFundMe page has been set up, by friend Jodie Gallagher, with a target of £4,000.

Lauren said: "I can't thank them enough. It means so much.

"We have been left with nothing.

"The kids were meant to be going to school but they have got no uniform.

"They have also lost all of their computers and iPads."

The message on the GoFundMe page reads: "They all managed to escape the house unhurt but they have lost everything, they left the house in their pyjamas and that’s all they have.

"Please donate anything you can, to help them build their kids a family home back up.

"This is horrifying and anybody’s worst nightmare!"

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "We were called on Sunday, November 5, at 11:50pm to reports of a house fire on Coleshill Way in Bradford.

"We sent three crews, Odsal, Bradford and Cleckheaton.

"We used six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and a positive pressure ventilation fan to tackle the blaze.

"Two people were attended to by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) with suspected smoke inhalation."
