A PLOT of Council-owned land in Birkenshaw is back up at auction again for £850,000.
The land, which is just over two acres in size and is at Croft Street in the village, went under the hammer in October, but was not sold.
It has now been included in the November auction, with the same guide price of £850,000.
Planning permission for 34 homes was previously approved for the land, but that has since expired.
The land, which is to the south of Birkenshaw Liberal Club, has a housing allocation of 28 units in the Local Plan.
An online petition set up recently aims to halt any housing development on the site to protect local wildlife and green spaces.
So far it has gathered almost 200 signatures.
