A ROAD is closed this afternoon following what has been described as a "serious" crash. 

Long Lee Lane in Keighley has been cordoned off by police.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Long Lee Lane, Keighley, is currently closed in both directions due to a serious road traffic collision (RTC).

"Road closures are in place at the junction with Glen Lee Lane at one side of the RTC and Cherry Tree Rise at the other side.

"It is likely to be closed for some time whilst investigations continue.  

"It would therefore be advisable to avoid the area."
