Firefighters from two different stations were called in to tackle a house fire in Gomersal.   

The incident on Oxford Road was reported around 3.10pm on Monday (October 31).

It took place in the property's cellar. 

Three crews were sent to the scene, including one from Cleckheaton and two from Dewsbury. 

In the latest update, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "We were called at 3.10pm to Oxford Road in Gomersal to reports of a house fire.

"We sent three crews, one from Cleckheaton and two from Dewsbury.

"This was a cellar fire – hose reel jets and positive pressure ventilation was used to extinguish it."
