Shocking footage shows police in Yorkshire being attacked by a barrage of fireworks - which explode just a few feet from their heads.
The cops from an off-road bike unit were hit by the volley of rockets while they stopped on a residential street to recover a scooter.
Residents in Doncaster who witnessed the incident were said to be shaken, with one mum left screaming, “Stop it, my kids are in the garden” as the missiles exploded nearby.
While the video also showed how those firing the projectiles achieved almost pinpoint accuracy - even though the officers were standing around 350ft (105m) away.
Thankfully no one was injured in the incident on Wednesday (Oct 25), and South Yorkshire Police are now seeking to identify those responsible.
Roads Policing Inspector Pete Heginbotham, from the force, said: “It is appalling that officers who were simply doing their job were targeted in this way.
“Officers are humans, we have loved ones, and want to go home at the end of each shift, they should not face unnecessary danger in this way.
“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated, and we will work to bring those responsible before the courts.
“If you have information that can help us identify those responsible for Wednesday night's actions, please get in touch.”
