THE sister of Peter Sutcliffe's last victim has praised an ITV show for its perspective on the five-year hunt for the serial killer.
Bradford-born lorry driver Sutcliffe murdered 13 women and attempted to kill seven others between 1975 and 1980.
ITV crime drama The Long Shadow is currently telling the story from the victim's perspective.
His final victim Jacqueline Hill, a 22-year-old Leeds University student, was murdered on the night of November 17, 1980.
Speaking to This Morning on Tuesday, Jacqueline's sister, Vivienne said: "All of the victims were just everyday people.
"The victims are coming out of the Long Shadow and it is not about Sutcliffe anymore.
"If it comes across as a tribute or a memorial to the victims, then that is a good thing. Why should they be forgotten?"
Vivienne described Jacqueline as a "gentle and kind person" and she is still in contact with some of her friends.
She says what happened to her sister is "always in the back of her mind".
Vivienne added: "When I was younger, I would burst into tears at any mention of it on the news and radio. Those first few weeks were horrendous.
"It does not bother me now, people knowing. I feel like I have to stand up for everyone."
