SCORES of floral tributes have been left at the scene of a crash where a 19-year-old man died.
Emergency services scrambled to Brow Lane in Shelf at around 11.15pm on Friday night following the collision.
The driver of the white Seat Ibiza, who has been named locally as former Calderdale College student 'Joe', was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old passenger is fighting for his life in hospital.
Four other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the collision suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
People have been coming and going from the scene to pay tribute for much of Sunday.
Lit candles and Manchester United scarves were seen amongst the many bunches of flowers.
A tribute from Calderdale College read: "Joe was the most kindest, well-mannered, and polite student at college. Always happy and hard working.
"He gave his all every week and had so much enthusiasm for his trade.
"All of us at college will miss him so very much.
"We are devastated for your loss and send our love to his family and friends.
"RIP Joe. Love Scarlett, Sam, and Kelly (Calderdale College)."
A latest West Yorkshire Police statement read: "Police are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in Calderdale in which one person died and one person was left critically injured.
"At 11.17pm last night, police were called to reports of a collision on Brow Lane, Shelf.
"A white Seat Ibiza was travelling down Brow Lane, towards Low Bentley, when it collided with a wall.
"The driver, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition, thought to be life-threatening at this time.
"Four other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the collision suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening. All were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
"Officers are appealing for anyone who was driving in the area or lives in the vicinity of Halifax Road and Brow Lane to check their dashcam or CCTV for any relevant footage that could assist with the investigation.
"MCET officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the white Seat Ibiza on Halifax Road or being driven in the area prior to the collision.
