A WOMAN has "seriously and potentially life-changing injuries" following a crash.
There is a huge emergency services presence in Leeds city centre.
The collision, which involved a HGV truck and a pedestrian, happened just before 10am on Mill Hill.
Photographs from the scene show a lorry from Bradford-based logistics company Expect Distribution.
Road closures are in place on Mill Hill, Boar Lane and Briggate junction as police deal with the situation.
Enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Shortly before 10am this morning, emergency services were called to reports of a serious road traffic collision involving a HGV truck and a pedestrian on Mill Hill, Leeds City Centre.
"Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a woman in her forties, was taken to hospital with serious and potentially life-changing injuries.
"The driver has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
"Road closures remain in place on Mill Hill, Boar Lane and Briggate junction.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
