POLICE seized a bag of cannabis from vehicle and handed out speeding tickets during an operation.
Roads Policing Officers from West Yorkshire Police were patrolling Guiseley, Yeadon, Rawdon and Otley as part of Operation SPARC last week.
This is an initiative that is run in collaboration with Leeds City Council and aims to make local streets safer by tackling the "Fatal 5" offences.
These are excess speed when driving, using a mobile phone behind the wheel, drink and drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt and careless driving.
The Leeds North-West Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said on its Facebook page yesterday that the officers stopped and searched one vehicle and found a bag of cannabis inside.
This was seized.
Police issued six speeding tickets in total, as well as four tickets for driving without using a seatbelt.
One vehicle was also stopped and dealt with after it showed as not having a valid MOT.
