A BRADFORD Bulls legend has challenged a Tory MP to a charity boxing match following his controversial comment about the city.
Yesterday Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party Lee Anderson was questioned about the scrapping of the HS2 high-speed rail line between Birmingham and Manchester and how this would affect services in places like Bradford.
Mr Anderson said: "Would you want to get there quicker?"
The comment attracted intense criticism from a number of residents and opposition politicians, who said it was "appalling", "pathetic" and "disgraceful".
One of those annoyed residents was former Bulls star Leon Pryce.
Reacting to a clip of Mr Anderson saying those comments, he took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) this evening.
As a Bradfordian I’d like to offer Lee Anderson a charity boxing match. All proceeds to a charity of his choice. Let’s make this happen twitter https://t.co/vnD3eBbjb6
