ONE of the victims of a fatal town centre stabbing has been described as a "popular young man with a bright future ahead of him".
It is understood Haidar Shah, raised in Clayton, and Joshua Clark lost their lives following the incident on Commercial Street in Halifax.
On Monday, West Yorkshire Police launched a murder investigation after the incident, where three men were taken to hospital with stab wounds.
Three males, two aged 18 and one aged 19, were arrested.
Tributes have been pouring in for both victims at the scene and online.
A fundraiser has been set up by a family friend to raise money for Haidar's funeral costs.
Over £2,000 has been raised by Jodie Hartley via a GoFundMe page.
In the bio for the page, she describes Haidar as a "likeable and popular young man with a bright future ahead of him".
Jodie also details how difficult it has been for his family since hearing the terrible news.
It reads: "Haidar was a likeable and popular young man with a bright future ahead of him.
"He was raised in Clayton and had many friends in and outside the area.
"As many of you are aware, Haider's young life has recently been so very cruelly taken away and as a result, his mother and family are left with the unthinkable.
"Burying a child is something that no mother should ever have to do and the last thing the family should have to think about is finances.
"I am kindly asking for donations, no matter how small, to help towards any funeral costs or general finances meaning one less thing for the family to think about.
"Please share the link so we can raise as much as possible for the family.
"Thank you for your support."
The football club which the young man played for has also paid a poignant tribute on Facebook.
A post on Peel Park-based Icon Athletic FC's page read: "It's with great sadness we announce the passing of one of our own, Haidar Shah.
"Still in shock at the news, words don't begin to explain this. It's been a privilege to have known such a kind-hearted young man, forever in our hearts.
"Gone way too soon, but never forgotten. You've left your mark on us all and truly will be missed.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this difficult time.
"Haidar, rest in peace, my brother. We love you!"
