A VIDEO showing the current stage of a new multi-million-pound development in Bradford city centre has been released.
The new Darley Street Market, which is set to house around 40 businesses, is expected to open in May of next year.
Once a bustling shopping area, Darley Street has been plagued by empty premises for several years after many businesses relocated to The Broadway Shopping Centre.
But it is hoped the £23m market will turn the street's fortunes around and kickstart much-needed regeneration.
The clip, which lasts two minutes and 22 seconds, provides viewers with drone footage from in and around the new market.
The state of each of the four levels - general merchandising hall, market hall, dining hall, and lower level - can be seen in the video.
Work is also taking place around the edge of the market square which will be seating for up to 66 people.
There will also be eight large umbrellas that can be converted into a large ‘pop-up’ marquee for bespoke events.
The project was given the go-ahead in May 2019 and work on site began in May 2021 with the demolition of several properties, including the former Marks & Spencer building.
