A BRADFORD man avoided jail after he stole a purse from a shop and used the owner's bank card.
Anthony Penn, of Allerton Road, committed the theft and fraud offences at Prima Donna Boutique on Market Street in Brighouse on January 12.
The 54-year-old entered the shop as a trespasser before taking the purse.
He then went over to the Tesco in Brighouse and used the bank card twice, making a total purchase of £49.35.
After pleading guilty, Penn was handed a conditional discharge of 12 months.
He was also forced to pay £200 in compensation following his case being held at Bradford And Keighley Magistrates' Court on Thursday, September 28.
