LIVE events taking place in Bradford city centre are being celebrated next month and the public is being urged to support the venues involved.

October is Bradford at Night Live month, and includes such diverse events as music, comedy, plays, karaoke and wreath making.

The month-long celebration was founded by Bradford at Night, the membership body for businesses operating in the city centre after 5pm.

Supported by Bradford BID, the themed month aims to put a spotlight on the variety of entertainment that people can enjoy at Bradford’s many evening venues.

One of the main drivers is to encourage the public to take another look at what the city has to offer and to commit to supporting the Bradford night-time economy by enjoying an evening out at least once a month.

Elizabeth Murphy, director of Bradford at Night said: “Bradford at Night Live month is an opportunity for people to take another look at the great offer in Bradford city centre.

“This October there’s a fantastic variety of live events taking place on an evening in venues throughout the city centre whether you’re looking for something during the week or at the weekend, with friends or a partner.

Ms Murphy added: “The hospitality industry is experiencing particularly tough times at the moment. Off the back of Covid, the rise in energy costs and cost of living crisis, the industry is really struggling, yet it’s the backbone of many towns and cities, including Bradford.

“We’re asking the public to take another look, come out and support the local businesses and enjoy a great night out. If we all did this once a month it would have a huge impact.”

Events taking place during October include a wreath-making workshop at The Underground, an open mic night every Wednesday at The Peacock, Really Funny Comedy night at BrewDog, Abbamania at St George’s Hall, a Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden tribute act at Nightrain, Blood Brothers at The Alhambra, and a Beyonce tribute act at The Great Victoria Hotel.

Other venues involved include Boar and Fable, Bradford Playhouse, Corn Dolly, Napoleons Casino, Rewired, The Ginger Goose, The Light, The Midland Hotel and The Sun Hotel.
