POLICE say a driver will be appearing in court after being caught speeding through a village yesterday (Sunday) evening.
While carrying out speed enforcement on the A6068 through the village, which has a 30mph limit, police say a driver was recorded doing 67mph while overtaking over vehicles.
The North Yorkshire Police Traffic Bureau and Road Safety posted on social media: "One driver thought the speed limit (30mph) didn't apply to them and decided to overtake other vehicles at 67mph! This driver will be invited to court. #Fatal5 #NoExcuses #Slowdown."
Villagers in Cowling are campaiging for average speed cameras.
