AIREWORTH Dogs in Need is a foster-based dog rescue (no kennels) covering Bradford, Keighley and surrounding areas.

We were established in 2014 and are a registered charity number 1162052.

Our adoption fee is £200 (£150 for dogs over 10 years) which includes the cost of neuter, vaccinations and microchip.

Here are this week’s dogs, available for adoption:

* Name: BURT

Breed: Huntaway

Sex: Male

Age: Approximately two-years-old

Burt came to us last year as an unclaimed stray and then found a lovely home, but unfortunately it isn’t working out as he isn’t not good with their flock of pet sheep.

Burt generally likes other dogs and would really benefit from living with a doggy pal. He’s friendly and affectionate, he could live with children from around eight-years-old.

Burt is not used to cats and he has a high prey drive so we wouldn’t look to place him in a home with cats or other pets (except dogs).

He mostly walks well on lead but can pull at times. He is fine being left for reasonable periods and he is clean in the house.

Burt isn’t used to regular car travel and can get car sick. He is just starting his travel training, so hopefully with some work this will improve.

He is a stunning lad and deserves a five star home. He would probably benefit from something like agility or other canine sports.

* Name: AURA

Breed: Akita cross

Sex: Female

Age: 12-months-old

Stunning Aura is a super friendly young girl who has oodles of love and cuddles ready and waiting to give her new family. Could that be you?

She was picked up as a stray and sadly left unclaimed. She is so keen and enthusiastic to greet people and share all that love. She would need a family with either no children or kids over 10-years-old, as she could easily skittle little ones over!

Aura is good with most dogs and has had no issues with meeting dogs out on walks, but has had occasional squabbles with one of the dogs in her foster home. She could live with a sound sociable dog.

She would chase running cats, given the chance, but may be able to live with a confident, dog savvy cat.

Aura doesn’t appear to have been used to car travel much before coming to us. She is travelling quite well, but reluctant to jump in at the moment so needs a little more help with this.

She is house-trained and is fine being left for reasonable periods.

She still needs help learning her manners, but she has improved enormously in foster care and we have every confidence that with further training she’ll be a superstar.

She is very food driven and learns quickly. She pulls a little on lead but is improving quickly.

* Name: CHYNA

Breed: Cane Corso x Shar Pei

Age: Two-years-old

Sex: Female

Chyna came into emergency foster after being seized from horrendous conditions by the police and the RSPCA.

She was being used for breeding, was very underweight and needed vet treatment.

Despite all this, she is the sweetest natured girl and we are now looking for a new forever home where she can have her eye operation for entropion (fees will be covered by the charity) and where she can receive the TLC she so richly deserves.

Chyna is completely unfazed by other dogs and could be re-homed with another dog, providing they will not be ‘in her face’ after her surgery.

She is curious about cats so she may be able to live with one if you can separate them initially and carefully manage the introductions.

Chyna has lived with children, and we think older children, as she still behaves in a boisterous puppy-like fashion and she is a big girl! She has been clean in kennels and in the foster home.

Chyna loves people and is very friendly and affectionate. She will need some training input but is proving to be a quick learner in foster care and as she is very food motivated.

We think she will make excellent progress when she can move into a secure family home where she can be given time and attention.

She really is gorgeous!
