A 11-YEAR-OLD boy well-known for his long golden curly locks is ready to undergo a sponsored hair cut this Saturday.
Harvey Munt, of Liversedge, who has blonde curly hair which goes halfway down his back, will get it all chopped off in a sponsored hair cut for The Little Princess Trust this Saturday (September 23) at the Hightown Club pub on Halifax Road, Liversedge.
His mum, Ann Bentley, said Harvey is known for his long locks.
"That's how people recognise him," she said. "But he's been wanting to cut it for a while.
"When he runs around playing football he gets really hot because of it.
"Harvey decided when he wanted to get it cut that he'd do it for charity.
"I thought 'it's really lovely that'. I'm a proud mum."
However, Ann admitted it will not be easy for her to watch.
"I'm dreading it, I love his hair. He's had it trimmed but never had it properly cut in his life.
"It'll be very emotional. I'll be in tears."
Ann estimated that Harvey has raised around £1,000 for The Little Princess Trust.
Harvey's auntie, Caroline Bentley, said: "He's been growing it all his life, but he's doing this for people who have lost their hair because of cancer."
