A MAN has admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, likely to cause distress, harassment or alarm in the Yorkshire Dales after changing his plea to guilty on the day of his trial.
Michael Thornton, 62, of Moor Lane, Ingleton, must pay £468 following the hearing at Skipton Magistrates' Court on August 29.
Court notes state the offence was motivated (wholly or partly) by hostility towards persons of a particular sexual orientation. The offence occurred on December 14 last year in High Street, Ingleton.
Thornton was fined £120 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £48 and costs of £300.
