A BRADFORD-BASED organisation is celebrating donating a total of £40 million since it launched.

The Morrisons Foundation has helped more than 3,300 charities since it was created in 2015.

The BD4 Community Trust, Bradford Bulls Foundation, Park Avenue Bradford, CentrePoint - Bradford, and Intouch Foundation have all benefitted in recent years.

David Scott, Morrisons Foundation Trustee, said: “I’m immensely proud that since 2015 the Morrisons Foundation has been able to donate £40 million to make a positive difference to the lives of people in communities across the country.

“I’m particularly happy that we’ve been able to support so many Bradford charities.

"Being based in Bradford, we understand the need to support our local communities and are delighted we have been able to help their vital work.”

Recently, a donation of £8,580 to Participate Projects charity enabled children at Ryecroft Primary Academy in Holme Wood to take part in their innovative ‘Venturist’ programme.

Gemma Harwood, Business Manager at Participate Projects, said: "We are really excited that the Morrisons Foundation are funding The Venturists in an additional three underprivileged schools in Bradford over the next academic year.

"We’re really looking forward to working with these young people and developing social action projects that will instigate change and help their community."
