PEOPLE from across the Bradford district are getting behind England’s Lionesses football team ahead of their World Cup Final match tomorrow.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Gerry Barker, has recorded a special message of good luck, which will go out across Bradford Council’s social media platforms.
England flags have been flying in Centenary and the lights on Bradford City Hall clock tower will be lit up in red and white on Sunday, this will be complemented by the lights on the Mirror Pool in City Park.
The bells of City Hall will be playing the anthem of English Football - ‘Three Lions’ tomorrow at 10.30am ahead of kick-off 30 minutes later.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Gerry Barker, said: “It’s great to see people from across the whole of the district and from all our many communities getting behind the England team and cheering them on throughout this tournament.
“On behalf of the Bradford district I’d like to send my congratulations to the Lionesses on getting to the final of World Cup and I wish them the very best of luck for Sunday. Come on England. It’s coming home and we know we can do it.”
