A MOTORCYCLIST is in a critical condition after being taken to hospital following a collision with two other vehicles on the A65 between Gargrave and Skipton earlier today (Friday).
A police investigation is underway following the crash, which happened just before 8.10am south of Gargrave, and involved a motorcycle, a car, and a pick-up truck.
The stretch of road remained closed with diversions in place until 2.20pm while emergency services worked at the scene and to allow the vehicles to be safely recovered.
The man riding a white Yamaha motorcycle, which has a black seat and fairings, was heading towards Skipton when it happened.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital by ambulance. He is in a critical condition.
The collision also involved a blue Kia Rio car and an orange Ford Ranger pick-up truck that were heading towards Gargrave. Both drivers are uninjured and are assisting the police.
Police are asking people to come forward with any sightings of the white Yamaha motorcycle at around the time of the collision this morning.
They also need to hear from witnesses to the collision itself and motorists with relevant dash cam footage that could assist enquiries.
Anyone able to help is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 4, and speak to the Force Control Room. Quote reference number 12230155197.
