BRADFORD Council has issued an update on the condition of a derelict Bradford city centre building following a fire.
Police and firefighters from Bradford, Shipley, and Fairweather Green were called to the building, on the corner of Burnett Street and Upper Park Gate in Little Germany at 2pm on Monday, August 7.
The fire involved half of the ground floor, and two hose reels and a large jet were used during the two-and-a-half-hour operation.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was being treated as a deliberate fire.
A spokesperson said crews had been called to the derelict building before.
Bradford Council said the site has now been secured.
A spokesperson said: “The building has now been secured and we have contacted the owner to secure any loose materials from the roof and upper floor windows.
“We will continue to monitor the building.”
